Is the Fat Burning Soup Diet Right For Me?

Many people are struggling to lose weight. As people get busier in their lives, the rate of obesity is rising. Hundreds of people are struggling to even hold down a part-time job in today's economy, and many are holding two and sometimes even three jobs in an attempt to have some kind of income coming in for their family. In some families, both parents are working two jobs, and this doesn't leave much time to cook at home. So lots of people are relying on what they can quickly fix in a microwave, or eating cheaply at fast food restaurants. As more people turn towards convenience meals and fast food, the rate of obesity is rising and more people are finding themselves searching for a way to lose weight.
You don't have to pay lots of money for a gym - you can work out right at home or in the office with very little or no equipment. Nor do you have to pay a lot of money for food systems or nutritionists. You don't even have to buy expensive foods. When you want to lose weight, the fat burning soup diet is a great solution that is as economical as it is effective. When you go on the fat burning soup diet you simply replace your between meal snacks or the carbs and starches you add at mealtime, such as bread or crackers, with a soup. You shouldn't replace meals with soup, since this that would be an unhealthy extreme diet. Another good idea is to have a little bit of soup before your meal. This will keep you from eating extra, but will boost your intake of vitamins and vegetables.
Soup is a great replacement for those late night sugary snacks. When you have a soup instead of cookies, you are eating something that is not only healthier, but more filling so you won't wake up hungry later. And you avoid adding needless calories to your diet. This can really add up over time, and lead to a surprisingly large weight reduction. Soup is also a great thing to eat between meals. When you go a long time without eating, the body's metabolism will slow down. This makes it more difficult to lose weight. Soup between meals will keep your metabolism from slowing down because it's a healthy food. You'll also be hungry less often, making the chances of you wanting to reach for candy or chips to tide you over much less likely.
Soup is a wonderful alternative to less healthy foods, and while some may say that it's a liquid diet and unsafe, the proper soups eaten the proper way as previously mentioned are excellent for weight loss. A fat burning soup diet is not a fad diet or one that is dangerous. The proper soups will have plenty of vegetables and lean meats or poultry. These soups give you all the nutrition of a traditional big meal, but won't put calories on you. Soups are filled with vitamins, minerals, and other essential nutrients such as fatty acids that are all necessary for a healthy diet and body. Soups are also much cheaper than eating out or microwave meals, so they are perfect for those on a budget. Soups can be made in a hurry as well, making them ideal for those who have no time to cook but want to lose weight.

Add Vegetables to Your Diet With Good for You, Very Veggie Soup

For years, the US Government relied on a food pyramid graphic to explain nutrition to consumers. But the pyramid received lots of criticism and many consumers found it confusing. Now this symbol has been replaced with a simple dinner plate graphic. The dinner plate is divided into four sections: fruits, vegetables, grains and protein.
The fruits and vegetables section takes up half of the plate. The message: You need to eat more of these foods.
Associated Press writer Mary Clare Jalonick describes the graphic in her article, "Food Pyramid Out, 'My Plate' in for Healthy Eating." As she explains, "Gone are the old pyramid's references to sugars, fats or oils. What was once a category called "meat and beans" is now simply 'proteins.'"
Andrew Martin links the plate graphic to the nation's obesity crisis in his article, "Government's Dietary Advice: Eat Less," published in "The New York Times." Martin points out that many Americans are eating too many calories each day, "expanding their waistlines and imperiling their health." He goes on to say the previous nutrition guidelines asked consumers to curb sugar, solid fats, and salt, but failed to urge consumers to eat less over all.
Vegetables are packed with vitamins, fiber, and they fill you up. How can you add more vegetables to your diet? I sneak vegetables into meat loaf and chili. My family loves stir fry so I fix it often. Combining vegetables, such as onions, zucchini, mushrooms and baby tomatoes, also makes them appealing. But making vegetable soup is one of the best things I've done lately.
Sure, the supermarket shelves are stocked with canned and dehydrated soups. When I read the ingredients list, however, I find things like soy protein, which I'm allergic to, and additives I can't pronounce. Making soup from scratch gives me, and you, control over the salt, vegetables, and flavor. And this soup recipe is flavor-packed.
The ingredients list calls for dried Italian herbs. A jar of herbs that has been on the shelf for months will have lost its punch, so use herbe you have purchased recently. I used a combination of oregano, basil, marjoram, thyme, and rosemary. To bring out the flavor of the herbs, rub them with your hands before adding them to the soup.
The pasta in the soup will continue to absorb moisture in the refrigerator. So you may need to add additional chicken stock or water to leftover soup. Serve the soup with French bread and fruit for dessert. You're well on your way to getting the fruits and vegetables you need in a day. Here's my original recipe for Good for You, Very Veggie Soup.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
6 cups lower sodium chicken broth (more if needed)
2 celery hearts, chopped
3 small carrots, peeled and cut into 1-inch chunks
1 large beefsteak tomato (or 2 Roma), chopped
1 cup frozen green beans
1 cup frozen peas
1 teaspoon lower sodium salt
1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (more if you wish)
1/2 cup small pasta (little tubes, stars, elbows, etc.)
Method
Pour oil into soup pot. Add onions and saute for two minutes. Add all vegetables and seasonings. Cover, bring to a boil, lower the heat, and simmer for 20 minutes. Stir in tubetti pasta. Cover again and simmer, stirring every so often so the tubetti doesn't stick to the bottom of the pan. Cook until pasta is done. Makes 8-10 servings.

Delicious Soup Diets for Weight Loss

Many people fail to achieve their weight loss goals because they see weight loss as a tedious boring process that forces them to eat bland food. For weight loss to be effective you need to be creative about your diet, and finding delicious soup diets for weight loss is a way to do this. The road to losing weight shouldn't be a dark and dreary one because if you stick to bland food items, the time will come when your interest will fade away and you won't be able to sustain your plan. Embarking on a weight loss program doesn't mean you have to say goodbye to everything that tastes good, because there are ways to cook low-calorie diet food in a manner that's delicious and appealing to the palate.
Soup diets are very common these days, because soup is a very effective way to satiate hunger without giving you all the unnecessary calories and fat. Soup is liquid-based, and liquid tends to work in filling up your stomach and tricking you into thinking that you're already full. This is the same principle that works for the weight loss tip of drinking a lot of water. There are times when we think we're hungry and we end up eating too much when in fact, we're only thirsty. Drinking water before a meal works in the same way as eating soup before a meal - it satiates hunger and makes us eat less of the meal in front of us. Just because soup can help you lose weight doesn't mean it has to taste bland. There are several soup diets for weight loss that have been formulated with taste in mind.
Soup diets for weight loss will only work if these diets are able to find the balance between low calories and appetizing taste. Naturally a full cream soup full of potatoes and seasoning will taste very delicious, but it's not very effective in helping people with their goals. A diet soup recipe will substitute the full cream with skim milk, and use something like asparagus or celery as a substitute to potatoes, which are very high in carbohydrates. Of course it won't taste the same, but this only illustrates a way to make a diet soup appetizing without making it full of calories. All it takes is a little creativity and a lot of research.
When you choose soups to add to your diet, concentrate on the soups that are rich in vegetables. You have to note that not all vegetables are the same either, and you have to avoid starchy vegetables like corn and potatoes as much as possible. You should also avoid soups that are cream-based, and instead concentrate on clear or even tomato-based soups. In making your soup you should also avoid putting too much seasoning, because while this adds to the taste, adding too much will be counterproductive to your diet. You'll be surprised how filling soup can be, so try it out and see amazing weight loss results.

Diet Soup - Popular Soup Diets To Help You To Lose Weight

You've heard of the many "soup" diets which promise to help you to lose weight quickly, and you're intrigued. It sounds simple: drink soup for a few days and lose weight.
The soup diets are simple, and they certainly can help you to lose weight. However, they're not a miracle dieting solution. You can't live on soup forever. They help you to lose weight in two ways: they can kick-start your diet, and they can help you to get off a diet plateau.
Let's start by looking at a couple of recipes which I like and use myself.
The Popular Cabbage Diet Soup - Vegetables With A Dried Soup Base
This diet has as its base packet onion soup mix, or any other dry packet soup which appeals to you.
Here's how to make it. Shred one CABBAGE into a large pot. Thinly slice other vegetables you have on hand: ONION, CARROTS, GREEN BEANS, and TOMATOES and add those to the pot too. Add the dry soup mix (one packet or two) and a tin of CANNED TOMATOES. Add water. Stir, and bring to the boil; boil for five to ten minutes.
Turkey Taco Diet Soup - Hot, Spicy, And Satisfying
The base of this diet is taco seasoning mix. You can add half a pound of minced turkey or chicken if you wish. The main ingredients are three large tins of kidney beans (drained and rinsed), two large tins of diced canned tomatoes (added as-is), and a diced onion. Add everything to a large pot with a cup of water, and stir. Heat to boiling, then simmer for around 40 minutes.
Feel Full And Lose Weight - You're Never Hungry
The main benefit of the diets soups is that they fill you up for minimal calories. You can eat as much of the soups as you want for your main meal of the day; if you feel hungry between meals, have a cup of the soup. You can also take the soups to work with you.
As we've said, the soups are not a quick fix. They will help you to lose weight if you use them sensibly: to get started on a weight loss program, or to get off a diet plateau. Don't use them as a mainstay of your diet for more than five days. You can however make them up and keep them in the fridge and the freezer so that if you're very hungry you've always got a meal handy.
Enjoy your diet soups.

To begin, vegetable soup is an ideal snack, appetizer or meal any time of the day. Each serving usually has less than 100 calories. The produce fills your stomach with fiber, stopping you from overeating. Rather than eating a vegetarian dish, you can always add beef or chicken to your veggie soup to add a little flavor, as well as protein. Better yet, simply add frozen or canned vegetables to any type of soup that's already been prepared. The more fiber you get, the more satisfied your tummy will feel after eating.
Tomato soup is one of the most nutritious foods that you can put in your stomach. It is filled with calcium, as well as vitamin K to strengthen your bones and teeth. Meanwhile, tomatoes' vitamin A assists your vision, skin and your bones. The chlorogenic and coumaric acid found in tomato soup are known to repair damage done to your body after smoking cigarettes. At the same time, tomatoes have lots of lycopene, an element that fights off and defends your body against stomach cancer. Avocado soup is another popular food for losing weight. You should also play with different seasonings and brands until you find your ideal taste. It often thickens as it sits, so it never hurts to dilute it with ice water before serving.
Another nifty little trick to fill you up is to create your own bread bowls made out of whole-grain. All you have to do is buy some big rolls at the grocery store, and cut out the inside of each to resemble bowls. Fill it up with a low fat soup and go to town. After the bowl is empty, you get to enjoy eating the flavored bread. When you've had enough soup, you can use the same trick for both salad and chili.
There is sure to be an enormous variety of canned soups, along with plenty of other snacks and meals to assist your weight loss efforts. Do not be afraid to experiment with different foods. Test out a wide variety of new soups, new pieces of produce and other smart diet foods and drinks. Once a week, find a unique flavored soup and smoothie to test out. Soups Are Good For Dieting

Of course there are many so called 'diet foods' that can help you lose weight. Think of all the celery and carrot sticks, and the salads. Those are nice, crispy foods that you can munch on, but sometimes you want something warm and comforting. Did you know that soups are also great choices for dieters?
vegetable soup diet plan
When you want to diet and lose weight, you need to eat foods that are low in calories. Most soups contain few calories because they are made with mostly vegetables. Everyone has heard of the famous Cabbage Soup Diet that allows you a significant amount of weight loss within a short period of time.
Soups are a very healthy meal choice that can help you lose weight as well. In fact, you can get all your dietary and nutritional needs from a bowl of soup. Consider that a nice bowl of soup will contain the protein your body needs in the meat and the broth, the vitamins and roughage from the vegetables and even some starch or carbohydrates from the noodles, rice or potatoes it may contain. (Of course, you can omit the noodles, rice or potatoes if you are on a low or non-carbohydrate diet.)
Consider also that soups contain very little fat. Vegetables do not contain fat, so the only fat in the soup would come from the meat that may be in the some soups. But, not all soups contain meat either. So soups are also a low-fat dietary choice.
Using soups as part of your diet plan also allows you to create variation in your diet menus. There are as many types of soups that you can eat as there are days in a year (or more!) With most diets, however, it is best to stick to the clear soups instead of the creamed ones that contain higher calories.
When you decide to make soup for your diet, you really don't have to fuss or use a recipe either. Throwing the vegetables you like in a pot of beef, chicken or even vegetable broth can produce great tasting results. Add a few onions here, a bit of garlic there, a can of diced tomatoes or other vegetables, some spices and you will end up with a different taste experience each time. Variety on a diet is very important to help you stick to your diet plan so that you do not get bored eating the same foods day in and day out.
Adding soups to your diet to lose pounds also allows you to share the same foods you are eating with your family. Soups are not really perceived as a specific 'diet food' so everyone in the family can enjoy the same meal. Just add a bit of fresh bread or crackers to their meal.
Soups can also be perceived as a comfort food so that you can feel more satisfied with the foods you are allowed to eat on your diet. Think of sitting by a rosy fire on a cold winter day wrapped in a cozy blanket and sipping on a mug of hot soup. Won't you feel like you are having a treat instead of being on a diet?
So next time you consider your weight loss, consider eating soup. The endless variety will help you satisfy your taste buds, and the low fat and calories will be in line with the weight you want to lose on your diet. Soups are a great choice for dieters.

The Low-Calorie Cabbage Diet Soup

If you know tonight's a party night, cut back during the day: choose a low-calorie yet filling lunch like cabbage diet soup or salad. Eat stuff that has less calorie content. These usually have more fiber and water, so we feel full quicker.
Cabbage, cooked and sliced, can be scrumptiously crisp, with a light pleasing taste. Brassicas such as cabbage has hydrogen sulphide, which becomes active during cooking at about the time cabbage starts to become soft. Hydrogen sulphide eventually vanishes, but between those times, cabbage gets its feature rank flavour and smell.
Either heat cabbage quickly, or heat it slow and long, ideally with other foods so that seasons can mix. Cabbage diet soup may contain fiber, protein, Vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, Vitamin K, Calcium, Iron, Magnesium, Phosphorous, Potassium, zinc and most important, vitamin C.
Cabbage has an extensive and diverse story. But, due to the fact that there are a lot of variations of cabbages under the plant genus "brassica", it is hard to be certain if the kind the Romans and Greeks had is the alike this time's sphere cabbage or more similar to Chinese cabbage or kale. The sphere cabbages we see now were a valuable vegetable by the Dark Ages, and during the Middle Ages they were plenty, as we can observe in the paintings of that era.
These usually display baskets at market or tables in the kitchen overflowing with food, and cabbages in different types were often prominent. Old recipes propose cooking cabbages with onions, leeks and herbs. During the time when everyone except the super-rich cooked everything in just one pot, cabbages were assumed to be heated slow and long.
Cabbages for cabbage diet soup should look fresh and had no blemishes. When selecting, do not pick any with stale leaves or are puffy. Spring greens and savoys can be stored in a cool place for several days; more compact cabbages will keep for much longer.
Preparing cabbages for cooking cabbage diet soup is easy. Trim the surface leaves, if needed, and then chop into quarters. Cut off the stalk then shred or slice.
An example recipe for cabbage diet soup is Cabbage Soup with Sausage. Spicy or smoky sausages add substance to this soup, which makes a hearty and warming supper, served with crusty bread and green salad.
You can keep up your weight with a low-calorie or well-balanced diet like cabbage diet soup; just choose one and stay with it. Planning is needed. Dieters who sustain their weight have a tendency to eat the same foods most of the time, but they alter the side dishes.
A cabbage diet soup will taste different if mixed with other greens and seasonings. You're still having soup for dinner. A usual cabbage diet soup that we can vary allows dieters to be consistent without being boring.

Gluten-Free Diet: Homemade Soups

Winter is here again, which means short days and long dark nights. The bitter cold sets in making it very unappealing to venture out into the frigid air. Lounging by a warm fire eating hot soup sounds more appealing to the imagination than going to work or running endless errands. So, after fighting the crowds at the grocery store and bringing home the purchases, what is on the menu tonight to fulfill the fantasy of sitting around the toasty fire sipping tantalizing soup? For those who are on a gluten-free diet some wonderful menu choices are all natural beef stew, potato soup, or chicken noodle soup.

The first soup to satisfy the gluten-free diet is an all natural homemade beef stew. Nothing says winter better than this meal. It is mouth-watering down to the last spoonful and very effortless to make. The only skills required for this recipe are chopping vegetables and cutting meat. Sounds easy enough, doesn't it. Here are the ingredients that make this stew fabulous enough to fulfill the fireplace fantasy. Homemade beef broth, onions, carrots, potatoes, celery, roast beef, thyme, basil, pepper, salt, cornstarch, and water are all that are necessary. Once these simple ingredients are combined, boil for 45 minutes and a little rest and relaxation with dinner are in order. Luscious, luscious, luscious are what everyone will be verbalizing.
The second soup to satisfy the gluten-free diet is an all natural potato soup. This recipe is not any more complicated than the beef stew. In fact, it is probably less complicated, if that is possible. This soup is milk based, but those on a dairy-free diet can use coconut milk. The coconut milk produces a magnificent texture that entices the taste buds. With coconut milk, potatoes, celery, carrots, paprika, salt, pepper, cornstarch, and water, soup will be on the table after the fireplace is rocking with warmth. The whole family will gather around asking where this delicious recipe came from hoping that it will be made again soon.
The third soup to fill the gluten-free diet is an all natural chicken noodle soup. Oh, if the others have not caused nostalgia to set in, this one surely will. This soup will leave anyone longing for the days of visiting Grandma as she produced homemade noodles with a homemade chicken broth. There weren't any artificial ingredients scattered in her cooking entourage. She made this soup with such tender loving care that it made the grandkids desire to never leave. The only problem is that Grandma never had to worry about gluten-free noodles. So, this recipe will leave nostalgia with modern allergies taken into account. All that is needed for this recipe is homemade chicken broth, chicken, gluten-free noodles, celery, carrots, thyme, pepper, and salt. After this appetizing soup is complete, head for the hearth and prop the feet up without a care in the world.
Now, there will not be any more excuses about flavor while on a gluten-free diet. The options and varieties are numerous and these three enjoyable soups are a perfect example of that. Those long winter nights do not need to be full of dry tasteless meals. Instead, they can be full of flavor and variety enjoyed around the fireplace with loved ones and close friends.

You also want to choose healthful soups, salads and cereal or this diet could be counterproductive.
If you wanted to follow this type of diet for a week it could provide some fast results. Here are some tips to make it a little bit safer and more nutritious:
Hearty, Healthy Soups
Change the soup recipe regularly to ensure it has enough vitamins and protein and not too much sodium. Soups with meat and beans are a great idea. Stews are also a good option for a dinner time meal.
Lots of Colour in your Salad
A salad that's made of mostly lettuce won't be all that nutritious or filling. The more colour, the more nutrients. Don't hesitate to add grilled chicken, hard boiled eggs and beans to the salad as well.
Vary your Cereals
Try some high protein, healthy Kashi or multigrain cereals and don't forget to add fruit or nuts to the cereal for extra nutrients and satiety.
A soup, cereal and salad diet could definitely help you with weight loss goals for a short term and if you do it right you could end up with a lot of variety and nutrition in this diet.

Are You Made To Have Soups On The Medifast Diet? Is It Required?

I sometimes hear from folks who are interested in the Medifast diet but who aren't big fans of soup. I've had people ask me if the soups are a requirement or if there is any way to avoid them. Many can't help but notice that the soups are often included with the variety packages. Nothing says that you are mandated to have the soups. It might help to know that within the soup category, there is also the option of chili, stew, and a sloppy joe. But if those do not appeal to you, you can just omit this category from what you order.
You have a few options if you're omitting the soup but still need to include a lunch meal into your day. You might chose to have your lean and green meal for lunch. Or, you might chose another of the prepackaged meals like one of the egg options, a bar, or one of the shakes. Many people aren't aware that you can customize your own package without needing to order one of the sample packages that include the soups.
Here is how you would do it. You would use the "design a menu" option. This is typically found on the left side of the company site. Once you get into this part of the site, it will ask you if you want a 2 or 4 week package. Click whatever is appropriate. After that, you will indicate whether you are a man or woman or if you have any health concerns (like diabetic, vegetarian, lactose free, gluten free, or kosher.) You're then asked if you only want to see only "on the go" meals which don't require any preparation. Once you make these selections, you'll be taken to a screen that shows all of the meal items. Basically, if you are ordering a month's worth of meals, you will be able to choose 20 boxes of food. (Most boxes hold 7 items each for a total of 140 meals.) When you make these choices, you'll want to choose something other than soup. As I said, you might opt for chili or more egg items or additional shakes or bars.
But know that you are never bound to have any foods that you don't want. If there are foods included in the variety packages that don't appeal to you, then you can always use the "design a menu" option to steer clear of what you don't want and order more of what you do.
